About Cebia

We are a Czech company founded in Prague in 1991. Our services in the field of verification, security and identification of vehicles are used by customers in 9 European countries. Among our customers are motorists, insurance companies, car dealers, vehicle insurers, government institutions, police forces and forensic experts. Over our thirty-year history, we have uncovered tens of thousands of used car frauds and have helped millions of customers to safely purchase a vehicle in countries across Europe.

Growing stronger

We become part of international investment group EAG Holding. As a result, our databases are significantly expanding to include records from all over Europe - especially Germany, Austria, and Denmark.

Online vehicle valuation

We launch an online tool to determine the price of used vehicles. Thanks to our extensive database of used car records, this tool is highly accurate and is demanded by largest insurance and leasing companies.

Transforming the used car market

With the growing interest in choosing a car online, we are starting to work with the largest classifieds portals in Central Europe. The results of our history checks become the hallmark of quality in the used car segment.

Entering the online world

Our services are now easily accessible to anyone from the comfort of their home. Used car fraud is at its peak and we are fighting it with all our might.

Expanding our services

We add physical verification of vehicle identifiers (VINs) among our services and our database expands by leaps and bounds. We work with insurance companies, government agencies, and the police.

Going abroad

The trade of stolen vehicles proliferates in many more countries than just the Czech Republic. We therefore set up an international database of stolen vehicles to help us uncover the true origin of used cars.

Founding of the company

Three university classmates are setting up Cebia. The original aim of the company to be in the IT sector was soon replaced by an interest in vehicle security.
