Where to buy Czech vignette and which vehicles are exempt from fees?

In the Czech Republic, all highways are tolled for cars and trucks.

🛒 How to buy a Czech vignette for 2026

You can purchase a Czech vignette for 2026 in three ways:

  • On the state website edalnice.gov.cz, which is intended for buying vignette. Payment for the vignette can be made by credit card or bank transfer. The e-shop also enables bulk purchases for fleet managers or entrepreneurs.
  • At Česká pošta branches and EuroOil gas stations.
  • In self-service kiosks, of which there are only a few in the Czech Republic so far and they are mainly intended for foreign drivers. Most of them are located at border crossings.

In all three cases, you must know the registration number and state of vehicle registration when buying.

Cebia does not sell vignettes.

The obligation to pay the toll does not apply to motorcycles and trailers. Vehicles weighing more than 3.5 tons pay highway fees in the form of electronic tolls.

Validity of the Czech vignette

  • A one-day vignette is valid for 1 calendar day (until midnight of the day for which it was purchased).
  • A ten-day vignette is valid for 10 days, regardless of weekends and holidays.
  • The monthly vignette is valid for 30 days, regardless of the calendar month. Just like the annual highway stamp, you can buy it at any time during the month.
  • The annual vignette is valid for 365 days, regardless of the calendar year. So you can buy it at any time of the year and it will be valid for 365 days.

You can choose the start of validity when purchasing the vignette.

⚠️ The vignette is non-transferable

The Czech vignette is non-transferable. This means that it is permanently attached to the vehicle for which it was purchased and cannot be used for another vehicle.

So when buying or selling a vehicle, the vignette always stays with the vehicle.

🔍 Vignette validation

On the edalnice.gov.cz website, you can easily check whether and how long the vignette is valid by entering the registration number.

Vehicles exempted from paying tolls

Vehicles registered outside the Czech Republic are exempt from tolls only if they are electric, hydrogen or hybrid vehicles and their CO2 emissions are below 50 g/km.

To obtain an exemption, you must submit a notice on this form.
