
How high a fine can you get for speeding in 2025?
From January 1, 2024, an amendment to the Road Act applies in the Czech Republic, which aims to simplify the entire system, to punish recidivists more and, on the contrary, to reduce penalties for trivial offenses. However, speeding is certainly not a banal offense.
If you exceed the speed limit in town by 10 km/h, you only face a fine. If you go even faster, you will also receive penalty points. If you exceed the speed limit of 40 km/h or more, you may also get a driving ban.

In the Czech Republic, as in many other European systems, the so-called point system. For moderate and very serious traffic violations, the driver can receive 2, 4 or 6 penalty points.
