Oil warning light - What does it mean?

🟠 Yellow oil warning light

The yellow oil light indicates a low level of engine oil, which needs to be topped up. You can find motor oil at most gas stations. In some cars, the yellow oil light can warn about changing the oil - usually the light is accompanied by a warning in the on-board computer.

🔴 Red oil warning light

If the oil warning light turns red, it means low engine oil pressure, which is a serious problem and you should definitely not continue driving. Low oil pressure can be caused by a number of serious technical problems, and you can irreversibly destroy the engine by driving it further. The best solution is to call a tow truck.
