The fastest car in the world - Do you know which one it is?

1. 🥇 Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+

The Chiron Super Sport 300+ from the French brand Bugatti can be described as the fastest mass-produced car in the world. Bugatti test driver Andy Wallace reached a speed of 490.484 km/h (304.773 mph) on a test track in Germany on August 2, 2019. The car differed from the production version only in the installed safety cage, different seats, chassis settings and the removed speed limiter. This is set to a still very respectable 440 km/h (273.4 mph) in the serial model.

Only 30 cars from the Super Sport 300+ series were produced, while the price started at 3.5 million euros. The model is powered by a quadruple turbocharged W16 8.0 L engine with an output of 1,600 horsepower. Compared to the standard Chiron, the series differs by increased engine power, extended automatic transmission gears and a redesigned body, which is extended by less than 25 cm for better aerodynamics.

2. 🥈 SSC Tuatara

The American hypersport of the SSC North America brand (formerly known as Shelby SuperCars Inc.) can be placed in second place. In an attempt to break the world record in Florida, on May 14, 2022, driver Larry Caplin reached a speed of 475 km/h (295.15 mph) on a 3.7 km stretch.

The Tuatara is powered by a twin-turbocharged 5.9-liter V8 engine that delivers 1,350 horsepower on gasoline and 1,750 horsepower on ethanol. The production of the model is limited to 100 pieces, and it will cost its owner at least 1.5 million USD.

3. 🥉 Bugatti Mistral

Until recently, third place was held by the Swedish automaker Koenigsegg with the Agera RS model, which reached a speed of 447.19 km/h in 2017.

However, in 2024, the record was broken by the Bugatti Mistral with a speed of 453.91 km/h (282 mph), making it also the fastest roadster in the world, as the Mistral does not have a fixed roof.

Only 99 units of the Bugatti Mistral will be produced, all of which already have their owners. The price starts at 5 million euros.
