In 2023, car manufacturer Tesla achieved a historic milestone when its Model Y became the best-selling car in the world, dethroning the long-time leader, the Toyota RAV4. However, 2024 brought a slight decline in Tesla’s sales, pushing it down to second place in favor of Toyota. The popularity of the Toyota brand is further evidenced by the fact that it has five models in the TOP 10.
Chinese Car in the TOP 10 for the First Time
No European car models made it into the TOP 10, while a Chinese car, the BYD Qin, broke into the ranking for the first time – with 502,000 units sold in 2024, it became the tenth best-selling car on the planet.
