When Can a Vehicle Be Towed?

Forced towing of a vehicle usually occurs in the following cases:

  • The vehicle obstructs road traffic.
  • The vehicle is parked in a reserved parking space.
  • The vehicle interferes with street cleaning.

If your vehicle is forcibly towed, expect costs in the thousands of crowns (in addition to the fine for the offense itself). If you don’t retrieve the vehicle in time, the costs may rise to tens of thousands, as you will have to pay a fee for each day the vehicle is kept in the impound lot.
