TOP 10 - Best-Selling Cars in Germany in 2024

In 2024, 2,817,331 new passenger cars were registered in Germany. The TOP 10 included two models from non-German brands.

Germans remained loyal to cars from their own brands even in 2024. Only two non-German models made it into the TOP 10 – the Czech Škoda Octavia and the Spanish Cupra (Seat) Leon. However, both brands belong to the Volkswagen Group, making them essentially German as well.

📉 Significant decline in electric vehicle (EV) sales

In 2024, a total of 380,609 electric vehicles (EVs) were registered in Germany, accounting for 13% of all cars sold. This represents a 27.4% decrease compared to 2023. The significant reduction in government subsidies is the main reason for the lower sales, deterring many potential buyers from purchasing still-expensive electric vehicles.
