In 2022, the best-selling car in the world was the Toyota RAV4. In the TOP 10, the Japanese occupied seven places, the remaining three places are held by the Americans, while the car company Tesla won two.
Japan is still in the lead
As in 2021, the global car market was dominated by Japanese car brands. From the TOP 100, they took 31 places. Models from Chinese brands are also appearing more and more prominently in the table.
Tesla is still going up
In 2021, we saw the Tesla Model Y SUV take off, and in 2022, the trend continued. While the Model Y sold 508,000 units in 2021, it was 747,500 units in 2022.For comparison - the German VW ID.4 electric car sold 175,600 units.
Predictions for the year 2023 even suggest that the Tesla Model Y could become the best-selling car in the world that year.
